Heading Back To The Doncaster Video Game Market

Back in March, I went to the Doncaster Video Game Market for the very first time. I had an idea of what I wanted to find, specifically the two Persona 2 games and Final Fantasy IX for the PS2. I wasn’t really hoping to get my hands on them, but I managed to do get all three of them, which was crazy!

Well, in just over a week, the Doncaster Video Game Market returns and you can be certain that I’ll be heading up there once again! So today, I thought I would list out what I want to find, so that after the event, we can look at how successful I was.

Dot Hack Series

When I went to Play Expo Manchester, I managed to get a beautiful box set release of the Dot Hack GU games. As I adore the Dot Hack series, naturally, I want to get hold of them all again. Therefore, I’ll be paying a visit to Allan’s Japanese Retro Game Sales (who always has a great selection of imports) to see whether he has the three games from the original Dot Hack series that I am missing.

Persona 1 and 3

Similar to the Dot Hack games, I have an incomplete physical copy collection of the Persona games. I have both Persona 2 games, as well as Persona 4 and 5. However, I only have the first game (Revelations: Persona) on the PlayStation Classic, and don’t have Persona 3 at all.

Because of this, as well as the rarity of the PAL version of Persona 3, I’m hoping to find a Japanese import of both of these games. That way, I’ll actually be able to afford them, I hope!

Wild Arms 2, 4 and 5

There’s a bit of a theme going on here, but once again, I love the Wild Arms series. Yet, in terms of Physical Copies, I only actually have the first and third games. Therefore, I am most certainly going to be on the look out for the other 3 that I need. It would be great to have all of the main Wild Arms games in my collection.

Pretty Much Anything Final Fantasy

At present, I own the full mainline of Final Fantasy games, with the exception of Lightning Returns. Oh, and I have Final Fantasy Tactics. However, as I now have a Wii, that opens up the ability to play the Gamecube and Wii games in the series. So I’ll definitely be on the look out for the likes of Crystal Chronicles. However, if I find a good box set or special item related to Final Fantasy that I can afford, I’ll probably be getting that too!

The PS2 Fatal Frame Trilogy

Also known as Project Zero (or just Zero in Japan), the Fatal Frame games are some of my favourite Survival Horror games ever made. Therefore, I would really love to be able to get all three of the PS2 releases to begin collecting the series with. They are pretty hard to find (although not as hard as the next game) but maybe I’ll get lucky?

Rule of Rose (Japanese Release)

This last one is very much a wishlist item. Rule of Rose is stupidly rare and insanely expensive, especially the PAL version. In fact, it is so rare and expensive that I will never be able to purchase it. However, Japanese imports are typically cheaper as people don’t want to get a version of the game that they won’t be able to understand.

With that in mind, I am really hoping (but certainly not expecting) to find a Japanese version of Rule of Rose at a suitable price.

And That’s All Folks

That’s my list of games that I want to find at the Doncaster Video Game Market this month. I’m not expecting to find many of them, but I’ll definitely be looking for them!
