Believe it or not, gaming can change lives!

Hi there! My name’s Gareth, also known as the 16-Bit Dad. I’m a first-time father to an Autistic daughter, a retro game collector and a Twitch streamer. I’m also a firm believer that video games can help to improve your life!

Here, you’ll find information on how gaming can change lives, as well as articles that cover both retro gaming and raising an autistic daughter. So why not take a look around?

From retro games to modern games, the 16-Bit Dad Twitch channel covers all aspects of the gaming sphere. If you’re looking for a calm and casual streamer as opposed to all of those over the top reaction, then come and join us! With a focus on an inclusive and welcoming community, you’re bound to make some awesome friends too.

One of the things that I’ve noticed with my daughter is that she gets bored of her toys extremely quickly! And by that, I don’t mean the typical “playing for 3 days and then losing interest”; she will play with a new toy for about an hour or so and then often, never touch it...
Autism Parent Resources – An Ever-Growing List
Ever since my daughter got her Autism diagnosis, my wife and I have been looking into different resources and advice for Autism Parents. For anyone who has read this blog for a while now, you’ll know that every now and then I write an article that’s more about getting something off my chest, rather than looking at retro games. This is one such post. My wife and I are still getting used to being “autism parents”. It’s something...
