Do you ever notice how a lot of “fun family activities” are actually just time that kids can spend enjoying themselves while you end up spending the entire time feeling incredibly bored? Whether it’s a park, play area, or anything else, there’s usually a load of kids having a great time and then a crowd of parents who would clearly much rather be anywhere else. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that. After all, kids need time to enjoy themselves as much as anyone. But wouldn’t it be nice if there were activities that you could do as a family that everyone could enjoy, kids and adults alike? Well, luckily there are! In fact, there are plenty of things that you can do as a family that everyone can appreciate, no matter their age. Here are a few activities that really are fun for all the family.

Go-karting

Seriously, who doesn’t love go-karting? The idea of being able to tear around the track at high speeds is pretty much designed to invade that part of all of our brains that craves excitement. And the great thing is that it’s safe enough that kids can get involved just as much as adults. Sure, they might not be hitting the speed records that you achieve, but they’ll almost certainly end up having a wonderful time and so will you!

Trampolining

Something about trampolining is able to convert even the stuffiest grown up into an excitable kid again. No matter how old you are, how fit you are, or how lazy you are, it’s nearly impossible to resist the fun of trying to bounce as high as possible. Even if you don’t have a trampoline yourself, there are plenty of dedicated places that offer local family days out. Again, the great thing is that not only can everyone enjoy it, but it’s also completely safe as long as everyone is careful and doesn’t try and mess around too much. After all, what could be more perfect for your kids than a place where the floors and walls are totally soft and bouncy!

Stargazing

Of course, not everything has to involve quite so much physical exertion. Instead, why not take your family up to the top of a hill on a clear night and go stargazing together. If you want you can even take a telescope. The kids will love trying to spot new planets and star systems, and the grown-ups can enjoy sipping on a drink by a bonfire before you all sit down for some tasty barbeque and hot cocoa. The best thing of all? It’s totally free! Just pack up the car and go and find the perfect spot!

Of course, there are almost certainly going to be times where your kids will want to do something that you’re not much of a fan of, but at least you’ll have these ideas on the backburner so that you don’t have to put up with feeling bored every time you and your family have a day out.
